Complete Noob AtB?
#1
Hello all. Firstly, this looks great.

Secondly...Im so confused.

Ive wanted a game where I could manage and have a career with my own Merc Company for some time now and I have been told to look at this and Against the Bot. The only thing is, Im so new at this I dont know where to begin. I kinda wanted something where I can generate my unit and just get random contracts and operate my unit from day to day, year to year. But I am at a complete loss as to where to begin, what I need to do to get the game running...and there is a lot of confusing information. Im not a newbie to Battletech, played table top for years...just cant figure out how to get this to work. Can anyone give me a hand?

My Megamek campaigns go over Mekhq in some detail and atb.

In the Season 0 campaign I go over the rules in more depth.

In the Season 1 campaign I go a bit faster but I am also using the latest mekHQ builds.

Okay, so I have it all set up but I have some issues.

First, I dont seem to be getting any contract offers. Not sure why. Im pretty sure that I have set it up correctly.

Secondly, even though I have techs and astechs, its saying that I have unmaintained mechs and after so long, a load of them suffer damage. Can I turn this off? I dont get why that is even there.

Every month the contract market will regenerate so, if you dont have anything right now try advancing to the beginning of next month and should be a message about the contract market refreshing.  Unmaintained unit units means you dont have a tech "assigned" to a mech/unit.  Right click the tech or unit and assign a tech to it so they will maintain the unit every maintenance cycle.  And yes you can shut maintenance off in the campaign options/repair and acquisition tab, then uncheck make maintenance checks.
